Therapy Dogs

Gunner

Gunner

Gunner, our first Therapy Dog, is a yellow Labrador Retriever.
He was born in Spanaway, WA, on April 6, 2005.  Gunner loves to retrieve ducks, play fetch, and chase squirrels.
He is a certified hunting dog.
He also sleeps with Sebastian every night and always wants to be with Sebastian.

Phoebe

Phoebe

Phoebe is a 9-year-old, AKC-registered, black American cocker spaniel.  She was born in Chattaroy, Washington, and was 8 weeks old when I brought her home to Richland.  She has always had a warm and loving disposition and quiet demeanor, and a face so cute it makes you smile!  Phoebe loves people and is especially fond of children.

Sometimes she wags her tail so hard her whole bottom wiggles, so I nicknamed her Phoebe Jeebee Wigglebutt.

Emma

Emma

Emma is a black Labrador Retriever.
She was born in the Tri-Cities area on December
29, 2007.  Emma loves to swim and play fetch.  She also loves to chase birds and squirrels.  She is a very good girl except when she is a bad girl.

Denny

Denny

Denny is a black Labrador Retriever.  He was born in Ellensburg on October 25, 2006.
Denny loves to eat.  He also just loves to chase squirrels but he never catches them.  Denny likes to make piggy noises.  He is a good little boy.

Gretchen

Gretchen

Gretchen is a Border Terrier.  She ran away from her home and came to live with Sebastian in November 2010.  So we do not know her date of birth or how old she is now.  She is a tiny little girl.  She loves to go for walks and chase squirrels.  She also sleeps with Sebastian every night.  Gretchen loves to have her belly rubbed.

Scout

Scout

Scout is a Golden Retriever.  She is named for her mom’s favorite character in To Kill A Mockingbird.  Her favorite pastimes are fishing and swimming (although she’s never caught a fish yet)  Scout hates carrots, but loves cherries and tomatoes.  She likes to eat tomatoes right from the vine (even though that makes her mom very mad!)

Jack

Jack

Jack is a Golden Retriever.  He enjoys going to the library to listen to all his friends read to him.  They are such good readers!  My mom takes me running in the desert where I get to sniff for jackrabbits, birds, snakes and squirrels.  My mom makes sure I stay away from skunks.  Whew!
My favorite foods are pumpkin, peas and carrots and pickled asparagus.  I do not like lettuce.  Elvis, our family cat, lets me lick her bowl clean . I love cat food!

Mazy

Mazy

Mazy was born in Spokane in June, 2000.  Her mom got her from the pound so we do not know exactly what kind of dog she is, but we all love her just the same.  She has a big black spot on her back that almost looks like Mickey Mouse's head.  Mazy likes broccoli and carrots and loves to chase squirrels.

Avalanche

Avalanche

Avalanche is a  white Collie.  He came in a cage on a plane from Denver to Spokane.  He didn’t like his trip and it took a while to adjust to his new home but now he likes almost everyone, especially kids.  He eats everything!

Shreq

Shreq

Shreq is a red Doberman Pinscher who takes his work very seriously.  He visits hospitals, care centers and libraries throughout the Tri-Cities.  Shreq loves cheese - slices, chunks, shredded, paste, he doesn't care as long as it is cheese.

Devlin

Devilin

Devilin is a red Doberman Pinscher puppy.  She is learning how to be a Therapy Dog from Shreq.
She moved to Kennewick from the Seattle area at age nine months.

First training class she took was in Yakima where she earned her Canine Good Citizenship title one month later. Devilin started going to libraries, nursing homes, stores, events, and other places to gain therapy experience.  Now she is a certified Therapy Dog with Love On A Leash and Therapy Dogs Inc.

 Hersey
Hershey

He is a Chocolate Labrador Retriever born March 13, 2010 in Idaho. He weighs about 57 lbs and eats like a horse and runs and runs and runs. He is kind of of spastic and runs into everything and everyone but he just bounces off and keeps on going. He was born with a congenital defect called Cerebellar hypoplasia, which is a disorder found in cats and dogs in which the part of the brain known as the cerebellum (which controls motor functions) is not completely mature at birth.  We immediately enrolled him a AKC Star puppy class and he graduated on Aug 8, 2010.   He was approved by TDI as a therapy dog on June 21, 2012.  We are all so proud of Hershey
